Hi all

I must admit, this is the forst time I've had a problem with this....

Using DW CS3 to ftp files - previous uploads have not been a problem.

For the past hour, it has been slow to connect to the ftp server, times out and cannot synchronise correctly.

Is this a temporary issue?

By the way - yes I have checked the Services Up/Down sticky but, in all fairness, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me! Most of the services seem to be up and running...

can you try ftp-ing from a command line, see what kind of connection speed you get then, do you get a login prompt quickly?

can you download a file quickly?
Try upload a file.. (not huge but enough it would give some idea)..

etc.

ok - cool - done that - opened cmd and did as you asked..

seems to look very similar to the DW ftp log but how do I find out the connection speed?
Edit:
Interesting...

using the cmd, I have got to the ftp mode and entered a valid username. It then provides a prompt for a password but does alow me to enter anything! what gives? I've never not been able to enter anything in cmd!!!!

it does it just doesnt echo it to screen.. You just need to type good and believe.

you can put files and get them, when you do it will tell you the relevant speed it did it at.
