FTP times out when retrieving directory listing

I'm using FileZilla, my preferred FTP software to connect. I could not find any information on DirectAdmin or the main x10hosting website for FTP login but I narrowed it down to the server my user is tied to, x11.x10hosting.com, using FTP protocol and my DirectAdmin name as stated in FTP settings, as well as the password for my DirectAdmin account. It seems to be able to log in to the server just fine until it attempts to retrieve the directory listing, wherein it times out.

I tried setting the default directory to what it says in DA; "/home/therice2/" and it didn't work.
