FTP to Chopin Server

Hi,

I am trying to FTP to my free host account on Chopin server. It gets stuck giving the status message 'socket connected waiting for welcome message'.

This has worked in the past and I am using Cute FTP.

It's possible that the FTP server is at its full capacity. If I remember correctly only 50 users can connect at once. I would reccommend trying again in an hour or so. If it is more persistent (i.e. Many days) then perhaps you could try a different FTP client.

Thanks lemon-tree, this has been the same for the last couple of days. I just hate it when things that have worked fine before just stop working. I can use the same FTP client to access other FTP sites! Oh-well back to the file manager ...

Hi,

FTP access seems to be a hit and miss afair ... Is FTP access disabled at certain times of the day or night? Say when a backup is beging done?
