FTP. . . .unable to get the listing to display. . . .

I can get logged in to my FTP account, but it seems to choke when going to list the directory, then times out and closes the connection. I have researched and have not been able to figure it out. I have attached a screeshot of the issue I'm running into. Any help would be appreciated!

ftp.user.domian.com/public_html is a good url to use. please provide what ftp client are you using? how are you authenticating? sftp, ftp, ftps. how new is the domain? What server are your hosted on? Thanks.
