Gallery 2 installation error

I am trying to install the newest stable release of Gallery from Menalto...it is the Gallery2.

I'm using the installer and the first two steps work fine. I get past the introduction and authentication pages, but when it comes to step 3: System Checks...it hangs and gives me the following error that I've listed below:


Warning: set_time_limit() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/rathishy/public_html/gallery2/install/steps/SystemChecksStep.class on line 168



I'm definitely not sure what to do, as I've had no experience with PHP, but I have searched the Gallery2 forums and I've also searched x10hosting's forums. I did the following so far, without any luck:

1. Upgraded to version PHP 2 (intermediate)
2. created the php.ini files under both /home/rathishy/public_html and /home/rathishy/public_html/gallery2/ directories

If anyone would like to help me with this...I would greatly appreciate it.

Your account hasn't had its version of PHP upgraded yet. I manually ran to script to catch it up.

Is it working? I get some error from PHP other than the eval() one.

Hi Bryon,

Thanks for your assistance. I just tried to install Gallery2 again and I got past that error. Now it says the following:

"Your webserver does not support localization. To enable support for additional languages please instruct your system administrator to reconfigure PHP with the gettext option enabled. "

Can you please assist me in this matter?

Once the current issues are taken care of with Apache on Absolut, I will add in support for localization/gettext. I have some other changes that have been requested for versions 2 and 3, so I will do everything at once.
