Do you want an @live e-mail address? Then follow these instructions and you will be on your way to getting one, BUT HURRY! This may be closed as soon as Microsoft finds out!

Follow these steps to get an @live e-mail address:

1. Go to www.hotmail.com, click on Sign up, and choose a free account, as before.
2. Now, you will be taken to a signup page that shows an @hotmail.com domain for your email address.
3. Go to the address bar, make hmnewuser.aspx read newuser.aspx and look along until you see &hm=1, after removing that hit enter.
4. Your @hotmail magically becomes @live.

Don't judge me, Ms has set this up themselves, just with different codes.

I am not judging you. If M$ has set this up then why do you say this:

BUT HURRY! This may be closed as soon as Microsoft finds out!

LOL, I saw something like this a while ago, but it wasn't this exact tutorial or whatever, it was something different. It was some code you had to type in, as in javascript or something like that.

Yeah you type in a code to bypass the javascript. By doing that you are in essence hacking M$ It's the same way you used to be able to beat Windows Update. You typed in a code to bypass the javascript and you got the updates on a non validated copy of Windows. This was before they came out with the WGA

But, MS has this set up, just with changing the code you can get the e-mail address. And if they don't want people getting it why don't they delete them from their system?

If your convinced that M$ has this set up so people can get it then that's fine. I was merely making an observation as it looked a bit wierd. If M$ wanted you to have an email address like that do you think they would make you go through all those steps to get one. ??? Why not just put a link or a drop down menu like they usually do when they offer stuff. ???

Or I could use .Mac with my Macs and my iPhone.

Or a hacked @live email that's still the horrible Hotmail application. I wonder...

If you're looking for email hosting with a custom domain name (for free!) try office-live: http://office.live.com. You can create up to 25 email accounts for friends and family or business associates.

The email account is hosted using the @live.com email interface. The nice thing about it is that you never have to worry about renewing the registration on the domain name. Microsoft picks up the bill and renews your chosen domain name for you.

There's also free website hosting, but it isn't as flexible or as feature-rich as x10 hosting's solution. Oh well. At least there's email.

Heh, I just went to the office live site, looked into that Website thing, switched into IE 6 for it, and it ends up that they have a syntax error with their javascript - using a numerical index as a member name.
Brilliance.
