how to get free site acknowledged by search engines? I tried google search console but will not validate my site. possibly my error.

Are you trying to validate whatever.x10host.com or a domain?

For what its' worth, I had better indexing and search results on my site when it was running with an x10hosting domain than the original domain address and that continued even when I used my own domain, beneath or under the shared x10hosting account. Almost makes me consider reverting back to the free hosting services that x10hosting offers.
