Hello,

I am currently experiencing the exact same problem as a previous post at http://forums.x10hosting.com/free-hosting/56747-google-indexing-html-verification-file-method.html

I try the html verification method however google says "We were unable to verify your file due to a server timeout." The HTML file can be accessed through my web browser and I see the last person who had this issue the admin had to change something. The domain that is experiencing this problem is jansonsays.com could you look into this problem for me please?

Thanks heaps!

Corey

The issue that person is having does not apply to you.

What is the URL to this file?

The file that google tries to find is

http://jansonsays.com/google9dd3551703722c67.html

I do not quite understand what you mean the domain is not pointed to the x10hosting servers? A whois shows me that it is pointed to Name Servers: ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com . This domain has been hosted at x10hosting.com for nearly a month now so it can't be a dns issue can it?

Edit: Google is now telling me

"We encountered an error looking up your site's domain name.
We tried to access your verification file, but were unable to access your domain due to a DNS error. This could be because your server is down, or there is an issue with the DNS routing to your domain. Make sure that your domain is resolving correctly and try again."

I am not quite sure why google is saying this if the dns hasn't been changed recently?

Thanks

Where is your domain registered at? I saw an error with the DNS of it but then when I checked a bit later the error was gone.

I register all my domains at http://namecheap.com I did not see any dns errors at all, I'm not quite sure what you mean could you explain a bit further? Also will this problem just disappear by itself if we wait a longer period of time?

Thanks mate.

Hmm, you can try. When I ran a DNS Report last night it did not show the correct IP, but when I ran it again shortly after it did. I just ran it again now and it is still showing correctly.
