first question: is the errors that use to be around during summer of 2013 fixed?
second question is: what is the 512 MB limit for? if we are getting unmetered space n bandwidth?
third question: if there is a unmetered plan how can i go about getting my site on that? and exactly what is required. I have read the thread about it. but i am not sure as in what is required or if my site follows the guidelines.

Site: http://www.crimsonminecraft.pcriot.com/

i know around summer of 2013 people was getting a 403/500 error or temporaliy down everytime we would try and save our settings or access the site. it seems to be fixed but i like to know if there are any present errors on the servers so i know how to handle the data i enter. don't wanna be working on something and lose it cause of a error comes up that can be avoided.

The limit is there primarily to prevent people from creating a new account and throwing up gigabytes of illegal/infringing stuff right away, and secondarily to help with resource planning. It should be 1024MB these days, not 512.

A forum with one user and one topic hardly needs unmetered storage. Yes, you may need it eventually, but you have a long way to go before you get there. You need to have a site that is at least a week old, is using more than half of its basic allotment (that is, you ought to be able to demonstrate that you actually need the space, not just that you want it), that the file space usage is for the website and not just file storage (which includes large amounts of storage used for backups), and falls within the Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy. Once all of these conditions are met, you can apply here for unmetered storage.

As for the errors, the old ones are fixed, but there will be new ones. That's a consequence of being on heavily-used servers with lots and lots of other user accounts, not all of which play nice. There seems to be a problem at the moment with at least one of the Softaculous installers, but you seem to have gotten your forum SW up and running. Mail is (and will continue to be) an intermittent problem due to volume -- beyond spamming (both deliberate, and accidental due to programming errors), there are a lot of people who seem to think that everything that happens on their site should involve an immediate user notification of some sort. Multiply all of that through, and add in outgoing spam filtration, and you get queue overflow.

As for the "losing stuff" problem, it's almost always a good idea to create things offline/locally and keep local backups. A failed upload or a corrupted file should not be fatal, and it won't be unless there is only one copy of the thing you lost. Don't let that one copy ever be on a computer you don't control.

i usually do my work offline but with some apps like wordpress or forums you can't unless its a template.

You can save things as TXT files (and images) locally; it doesn't have to be code to be saved. Heck, if I'm doing a comment that's going to be more than a couple of lines on somebody else's website, I'll usually do it in a text editor just in case.
