Guild Wars.

I recently purchased Guild Wars ( Today ) as a birthday present to myself.
I haven't ever played it, and recall a few threads on x10 regarding Guild Wars, and wonder if there are any players out there willing to help a newbie on G.W. get started in the right direction??

Any type of help would be great. From the looks of the box, its just the original. I didn't have much $ to spend on a game, and thsi one was discounted at the store I bought it at.

Guild wars has a lot variety. U can use the mouse to point and click if u like those kinds of RPGs, or u can use WASD with the keyboad, and u can also play in First person even, if u like first person RPGs.

I probably won't get a chance to get it installed and whatnot until tomorrow afternoon. Today is my b-day and spending it with family. Just was wanting to see who all plays to get some friends setup first.

The co-owner of the shop I bought the game at, asked if I ever played it or WoW. I said I hadn't. He said he plays WoW and was interested to see what I thought of G.W. ... he may switch. ( Because of the free play )

So, tomorrow I plan to install it, give it a go. If anyone else is willing to meet up with me and help out a newbie ... I'm a fast study, but kinda new to online game play like this.

I will. After I get some classwork done today, I'll install it and go from there. Can't be too bad, if there was a following ( which surprisingly has vanished from x10 )

Funny. I just started playing GW this week. I picked up "Nightfall" at the advice of a friend. I've never played this type of game before, but I'm glad I tried it.

Maybe we could have an x10 Guild!:biggrin:

Dutch - If you are interested, PM me and we can find a way to meet up, maybe have you join the guild I started. Would be nice to have a few people to play the game with ... may make the game a little better. I am considering getting some of the add-on ( upgrades / whatever ) when I get some cash. Right now, I just have the original one.

Warlordste - Well, I guess my guild COULD be an x10 guild. Would be nice to have people from x10 part of the guild. I am working on purchasing a guild hall and could use some new members. PM me if you decide to play again.

Well, that would mean having to close the guild I started to rename it. ( I think ) ... but IM or PM me to meet up if you come on today and I'll add you as an officer.

I can always put somewhere that its an Xten hosting guild.

I quit several times because it got too lonely playing by myself.

But a tip for the new Guild Wars player, if its your first time going through the campaign, play through it out and enjoy the storyline. If you take shortcuts, you'll find yourself very confuse, very fast--storyline wise.

I learned that. I started one character and was just running around, taking quests and wound up in some area that I had no clue what I was doing, or was powerful enough to do any good. *laughs* So I started over about a dozen times before I got the hang of it.

You will need very little help in the beginning. The tutorial section you go thru explains things in detail, and until you level a couple of times, you cannot even group with anyone.

Once you level up a bit you may need some help on what "build" you want. Be prepared to start all over with a new char after playing a while. Once you learn the game you may find you want a different "build".

Yeah. I am still doing that. Finding the right combination. I am being helped by a friend, but could always use others that may know the game a bit better than myself. ( And finding out that I may have to purchase one of the expansions to do any good. Right now I just have the original "Game of the Year" edition.

Yeah. I have 2 characters ( a warrior & a monk ) in post-searing. Would love the help ( beefin' up my characters the best as possible, ya know? )

I have money coming in April, may just purchase factions or one of the other add-ons to get new things ... ( If I can find it for less than 40. )
