Hello, I'm trying to enable gzip. Is this possible? I've searched the forums trying to figure out how to enable hidden files or a way to access .htaccess. How can I go about accomplishing this?

#1 > gzip should be enable on all x10hosting's free-hosting servers

#2 > for free-hosting servers xo1 and xo2 and xo3 --> to see a .htaccess file - in [ File Manager ] - close [ File Manager ] - at the bottom of cPanel (not x10hosting Basic) main page - click on reset all interface settings and then click on [ File Manage ] - on dialog box that pops up - check "Display hidden (dot) files" - that should make any .htaccess file(s) show up

for free-hosting server xo4 you need a 'workaround' --> on cPanel (not x10hosting Basic) main page - right click on [ File Manager ] - then select open in new tab - that should make any .htaccess file(s) show up

I can't figure out how to login to my cpanel, unless you're referring to this url https://www.x10hosting.com/sso/login or according to the wiki going to http://gofix.us:2082
If that is the correct url then I can't find the reset all interface settings button. Can you maybe take a screen shot of where i should be or something

thanks for helping me out.

AFTER you log-in at URL [ https://www.x10hosting.com/sso/login ] - you should see a link at the top of the screen [ Switch Theme ] - click on it - to get to cPanel
in cPanel - [ reset all interface settings ] is on the line above the bottom line

IMO - it would be better for you to use FTP to down load and make a back-up copy - BEFORE you do any edit to any [ .htaccess ] file
