Having mail() enabled

I am running a forum and just realized that the mail() function has been disabled, and from what i have read, there should be a way of account to account activation, wished to know what the process is since i needed it activated for my account.

Mail() is enabled... well it works for us anyway.

It is enabled for everyone on the ad-enhanced server. For those of us on the ad-free server there is supposed to be per user basis activation of mail().

We enabled it a few weeks ago on the ad-free server, unless something has changed that I don't know about
