Well, I'm new, so hello everyone.

Couple questions, is it true we have to post in the forums to maintain our account?
If so, how often?

I'm not really planning to run a website, I just wanted to use the mySQL database, and probably have a SOAP service for an iPhone to consume. (written in PHP)

Is that OK with the terms of service?

I personally was not searching for free, just something that was set up already so I could get started quickly, and you sure had that. It's all there.

You don't have to post but you must visit the forums once every months. I suggest u to read the news and announcement sections to stay updated every time you visit.
And regarding your iPhone stuff, what service exactly are you going to run? X10 provides free service for people to run their websites, blogs, forums, etc. Please read the TOS carefully again. If you do anything wrong, you could get banned once and for all. If you have any confusion, please tell me about the service, I can help you know if its allowed.
Also you could upgrade to paid hosting at www.x10premium.com or a VPS at www.x10vps.com. These services are lot less restrictive than free hosting. I suggest you to upgrade as I doubt you could be in trouble since there will be no website. X10 free hosting provides website hosting, not service hosting.
