I've had websites before but never on my own domain, and now I'm confused as to how to do that.

So I understand I have to register a domain name, and have a web host (this one), and then, uh, connect the two? How do I do that?

The registrar asks for two nameservers and IP addresses for both of them, and the ISP. Where do I get that information? And is there anything I have to change on this side, the hosting site?

Aaand, also, I got the impression that I can register a .ee domain name for free, and since the web hosting here is free -- does it actually mean I can, basically, make a real website for free? .-.

And, if it's a business website (small company, low budget, etc), do you recommend getting a more reliable web host than this free one? (Say, yesterday I got suspended several times for seemingly nothing, and sometimes the site loads slow.)

Once you have bought a domain name (Or got a free one) you need to enter the x10Hosting nameservers which are:
ns1.x10hosting.com - 208.43.202.204
ns2.x10hosting.com - 67.228.168.189
Then login to the AMP at http://x10hsoting.com/account with your Forum username and password. From here you can change you Main Domain to your newly purchased domain name.

The are lots of companies offering Free Domain names, one of the most popular is www.co.cc

If you are thinking of running a business the I recommend upgrading to one of our Paid plans as these have much better stability and load times.

What about ISP? <.<"
I know what it stands for, but what do I enter there?

And, how will the registrar know where my site currently is? >.>

Try leaving the ISP box blank. I've never heard of a Domain Register who needs to know that.

The x10 nameservers will sort all that out, all you need to do is point the domain to our nameservers, and then set up the domain in the AMP.

Is it asking for your ISP or x10Hosting's? I've certainly never heard of this requirement before.

I don't even know, the question is under the nameservers section, I'm guessing it has nothing to do with *my* computer.
So, I'm supposed to enter the name of the firm/company through which my site is connected to the Internet.
Any idea? .-.

I've never heard of it asking for an ISP. Did you get this resolved? If not can you post a screen shot of the page?

Uhm... just put x10hosting.com for the ISP and see what happens.

Clear.
It'll be a while till I actually want to register a name, but I'll bump this thread if I run into any problems.
Thankyou.

Okay, I'm going to close it for now. You can re-open it by going to the thread tools at the top of the thread.
