help installing phpBB forum

I read the tutorial that was put in the forum on how to do it, and all went well until I tried to open the install.php

when I open it, it doesnt view correctly
and when i try to go to it by typing the URL directly in my address bar, it says 404

Why dont you just use Fantasico.

Did you put it in the public_html folder.

Fantastico is basically a script that comes in cPanel and gives you a list of available programs that it can AUTOMATICALLY install on your hosting. All installions require a mysql DB and it saves a lot of time.

As for your problem, check your CHMOD permissions.

I'm not really that sure... but try going to http://efx.x10hosting.com/phpBB/install/install.php instead of your address you had.

Have you used the auto installer or have you uploaded the phpbb setup?

yeah first i tried uploading it, but i got really confuzed and some thing wouldnt work right

so i didnt notice the fantasico, it's much easier, thanks =]
