Help loading site to web

Hello, I'm new to these forums. I have a question regarding getting my web site up and running. I used dreamweaver to design and set up remote access via dreamweaver. I was able to load the files to my web server via ftp. Currently all of my files are located in my www root directory under home/wthhpe78. Why aren't my files showing up on the internet and why do they look awful if I open them locally? Thanks.

Your files should be placed in the public_html directory.

I see a "n" inside a table on your site(only the background and font are both black). The flash isn't loading.

When you say they look terrible, how do you mean?
