help phpbb add templates and themes

ive been trying to add tempates to my phpbb forum
i figured out to upload the files into the template folder and i did so in the same manner as Subsilver which was already there
but then i had to create a theme to go with it
i noticed that the subsilver theme was just subsilver, running the subsilver.css file
but i didnt know what to do for my new one
so all i did was say newtemplatename.css which existed and didnt state
the small amount of colour information it was asking cause it should be determined in the config for the template

i got a critical error that it couldnt read the config
can anyone tell me how to properly add templates and themes to a phpbb forum? :sad:

i just installed SMF instead of phpBB

i am confident that it will work better

Well if you want to install new theme on PHPBB, just do following.

1) Copy all files in theme folder.
2) Import new theme from Administrative Panel
3) Set it as defaul theme in Configuration tab

If anyone still have problem, post your quary here, I will explain in detail.

If you can't even see the template in the install templates page, read the following.

You have to upload it in a certain way. Sometimes, when people zip their templates, they leave two folders, like template/template/. You have to upload it as template/. The file name is also case sensitive, so if it has "templateS", you cannot rename it to "template". Do you get what I'm saying?
