Hello, Today i was looking for a free web server as a newbie, I found this i read the comments use sounded pretty neat, I signed up logged in made my URL and got that site, But i have no idea how to edit it or log into the cPanel.:dunno:

Is there any one that could tell me how to edit my site?

log in with the form there with the username and password you registereed your hosting account with

You can login to your cPanel using the link http://bnetupdatednews.x10hosting.com:2082 and using either the File Manager or an FTP client upload your site files.

Hi and welcome to x10hosting,

If you learn HTML you can edit your site using notepad. w3schools.com is a good place to learn. Or you can use an HTML editor, like Dreamweaver or HTML-kit or coffeecup, many others. I recommend learning HTML regardless, that way you have a better understanding of your website and how it works.

There are tutorials here in the forum that should help at http://forums.x10hosting.com/tutorials/

Or like GamingX and kllctcat suggest, use the file manager. (I forget that's there.lol)

Make sure youre not capitalizing your first letter in your username maybe

Hmmm... Idk, But You Can Use Publisher!

You Would Have To Download The Page. Then Edit It.

To Do That, Go To Your Website. ursitehere.somemaindomain.extension

File>Save Page As. This Saves The Page With All The Images And The HTML File. Then Open It In Publisher. You Can Edit Then.

I assume that u know how to build up ur site using front page,

i would suggest u to first build ur site offline through frontpage and then

using filemanager in control panel(it is in the files tabof ur Cpanel )

u can upload ur files to "public_html" folder.

its simple and easy..else u can use a ftp client like file zilla,

just remember that ur files must be uploaded to public_html directory and ur first page sould be index.html

Hehe, i am outa luck with the frontpage bit.

I just got on this computer to use Publisher 2003 and gave up the other comp to my sis.

And how do i make the Index.html my new Index page.

You can delete the current one in the cPanel file manager and then upload the new one, Or, upload the new one, and use a redirection which is located in the cPanel. Don't forget to also put the folder with the images in Public_HTML.

Make your site in Publisher, or front page, what ever you use. I perfer publisher.

Login to your cPanel

Click on File Manager

Go into the public_html folder on x10, if you're not already there,

Click on the upload button

Select the files you wish to upload. (Where ever you saved your site in publisher at)

Upload them.

Hmm, I am trieing to upload the one i did with publisher it sais (unknown Bytes: 0% Complete FAILED! :Unknown error or disk quota exceeded.)

I uploaded it and put it under Public_html deletdd the other one and it doesnt work.
Now my site has no page.

ermm.. the primary page that is your website, i.e. the first page you open or want to be accessed should ALWAYS be index.html, for arguement sake, however it is also good practice for general HTML standards. if such a page/site exists in your files you must upload them with the index file, if you require further help with general HTML, dont hesitate to ask me, we all have to start somewhere. garyallison@hotmail.com
