Hi!
My brother has been touching the computer and he has fu**ed it....
Every time i want to enter Windows XP i can't because an error of "Explorer" appears....
I've installed LinSpire in another hard drive...
I'm planning to backup all the files from the other hard drive into DVDs, and then format my hard drives and reinstall windows xp.

The things is that i don't really know too much abour Linux and i don't know how to make DVDs with my backups

Need backup :D

The things is that i was having a problem with Internet explorer (i think). I couldn't connect to internet explorer and neither to MSN. But i could connect by Firefox, and any other program. Outlook worked too...
So i tried to download "internet explorer 7" in a website that it said that it didn't require validation.
After rebooting my computer i started having the error.
I'll later post which error i'm having :)

Ok, I would like to see the error but most likely you installed a rotten copy of ie 7 seeing as you didn't have to validate it. try uninstalling it and uninstalling the previous vresion then re-installing ie 6

I can't enter Windows. The screen to choose a user appears and when i choose any user, the following error appears:
"EXLORER.EXE - The component can not be found" (as the title of the window)
"Error when iniciating the aplication because Normaliz.dll was not found. The reinstall of the aplication can solve the problem" (as the body)

NOTE THAT THE MESSAGE IT APPEARS TO ME IN SPANISH (AND I TRANSLATED IT) SO IT MAY NOT BE WELL TRANSLATED...

I can access the hard disk by LinSpire. The thing is that i don't want to loose some files, and i don't know how to write a DVD in LinSpire... I'm planning to put my backups in dvds and then reinstall windows xp.

Mount your ntfs partition:

mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/xp -o ro

/dev/sda1 is just a example. In your system can be different. In my case, i have a SATA HD and Windows XP installed in the first primary logical partition.

/mnt/xp directory must exist.

Backup your files, use k3b to burn to dvd.
