Help with my new domain

Today, I purchased a domain name for my x10hosting account. The domain is: http://www.motb.net and points to a forum. But, after you enter motb.net into the address bar and the site loads, bera.elementfx.com/ipb/... goes back up into there. What I want to know is how can I get it to be http://www.motb.net/ipb... Does anyone understand my question and can you offer some help?

Do you mean you want your domain to go to your home page like the index.php or index.html page instead of the forum?

No I mean like I want motb.net to stay in the address bar and when I go to other pages, threads, ect, I want that to be motb.net/whatever.

Ohh, You would just have me set it as the root domain. That will get rid of your subdomain though

Okay cool. Can you make http://www.motb.net my root domain and point it to my index.html so that can be my home page which will lead to my forums, ect?

Ok, I have changed your domain to http://www.motb.net Make sure the nameservers are set to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com

Okay, I am kind of lost, now. So, what do I have to set my domain forwarding to? www.motb.net? Also, how do I connect to my FTP now and stuff? Sorry for all of the questions but can you explain in a little more depth what you did and what I need to do now?

No you do not use forwarding any more. You need to use the DNS option. set the nameservers to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com thats all It will take some time for it to propogate.

So when it gets done propogating, everything will be working right? So, if I go to www.motb.net, it will take me to my index.html page? And if I goto www.motb.net/ipb, it will take me to my forum? Also, to access my FTP, do I just use motb.net as the server and use the same password and such?

Hmm. It is done propogating, I think. But, when I try to go back to my forum, I get an error saying:

mySQL error: Access denied for user: 'bera_hawt@localhost' to database 'bera_forum'
mySQL error code:
Date: Saturday 30th of July 2005 10:09:23 PM

Also, I can't login to my CPanel or FTP.
