help with phpbb

im trying to isntall phpbb2. phpbb3 sucks, so i have to do it manually cause installer in cp only does 3.
i need to know some information for setup.

Database Server Hostname / DSN: ??


i belive thats only thing i do not have. any help?
it wont allow me to connect to database with anything ive tried.

i tried starka, my site, x10's ns's, everything.
PLEASE HELP!

Have you set up your MySQL database through the cPanel yet? I believe once you've created it, the DSN is provided.

I installed phpBB3 manually the other week, and I remember it giving the DSN during creation. Good luck!

this was such a pain but i got it
thanks for info but ya i did that.
it was starka, but i had to manually add a table to server, then remove it cause it kept saying ti existed

I had the same issue. The flaw was that if there is any information populating the database (even one entry that is null data), you cannot write to that database. Glad you got it corrected!
