Well, the Torque vs. Speed idea is quite a good one, but if you're saying engineering will work out, might I suggest engineering something such as a skyscraper or electronics?

Well, not that I would have one off of the top of my head, but you could mention some things such as engineering terms, or how things such as skyscrapers are made to withstand weight and natural phenomenon, and you can even do a bit of history and look at the Romans and such, and how people back then used Domes, Aqueducts and archs and the such. Basically, add history/technology as well as some engineering information together and that should be enough to get you a great report.

Even if it may be too advanced for the class to hear, if you put it into "lamemans terms" while keeping the information there, you should have no problem. Like take it with me and my knowledge of computers. Often times when I'm at someone's home, they don't know too much about computers and won't know what a CPU is or what RAM is, or even what a gigabyte is. I can often times explain it to them in a simple way, such as what it is and they will understand it usually a second after I explain it to them. Think about it. If what you research is stuff you can understand, if you have a feeling the class won't be able to understand it, educate yourself on it, and put the same info into lameman's terms, or simple stuff that anyone should be able to follow.

Pictures help! ;)

Well, if that doesn't work, go with your area of Speed vs. Torque. That's all I can say, do what you know of the best.
