I think what you got wrong (think), you have to set the permission of your file to 755 or something lower then 777. Alot of people had the same problem due to a uprade i think

Go into cpanel then to your file manager, find the files you want to change permissions on (chmod) and click on the name of the file. You should see after you click it a new menu in the top right corner of the screen. One option should be change permisssions. click on that and change to 755.

Or you can log in through your ftp client and right click on the file and go to properties and change it that way. I hope this helped a bit. :)
