Original thread in one of games forum that got shut down: Link /(in estonian)\

Following is shortened version of thread: (NB. Its not my page)
Farmeer is closed because our current host NETPOINT SYSTEMS OÜ (also known as SERVERIMAAILM)decided that they need to lose some clients, because their servers seem to shut down.

//--- Deleted ---//

Heres the message sent to all 5 owners of games.

Hello

//--- Deleted ---//

We have been watching your page for some time now and we have
come to a conclusion that your page is too resource taking for shared
hosting. That big page requires their own dedicated server. Today your
page gave MySQL server such a load (don't know better phase) that it's
work was seriously disturbed and finally it shut down. Because of that
we were forced to close your account.

We ask you to move your page to other server - better if its own dedicated
server. In that case you can use your own Netpoint account for other pages.
We cannot give service to page that uses 95% (May i remind you, that that message was sent to 4 different customers / game owners) of resources meant for 6000 accounts.
That would be unfair to other users.

//--- Deleted (contacts) ---//
In asking how all 5 could take 95% of resources, they got following reply:
Hello

//--- Deleted (question) ---//

Yes, yesterday we closed other pages because of same problem, If
you would watched yesterday night servers status, you would have
noticed lots of problems in MySQL server works, what made different
pages at different times with millions of MySQL query's.

Mean time we shouldn't forget the fact that the mysql server is used besides
you by 6000 other pages. Percent given to you (95%) wasn't very correct,
because it was momentary load, that made the load to 100%. Absolutely
100% it didn't get, but other pages also gave server some query's.
Here is mysql server specs from their homepage:
194.204.33.7
2x AMD Opteron 246 2.0GHz
8GB 400MHz ECC REG DDRAM
2x WD Raptor 10K RPM 74GB (TCQ)
9x WD3000JD 300GB (backup)
Use: MySQL
I think it's total bullsh*t. Few posts down theres a comment from a professional:

By my information up to 20 pages got deleted by Netpoint. There are also some mid-sized portals and other pages that use well known software and making too big load is totally not possible.
I'm 100% sure, that Netpoints server data is correct, but not how many clients are put in it.
Being myself server technician i know to say, that server (look specs above) can take up to 2000 clients, Netpoint has added there 6000. To serve 6000 clients, they would need a server with 4 much more powerful AMD processors and at least 14GB RAM memory.
Seems like Netpoint haven't still started to learn to inverst, but to economize.
Glad i stopped my page at netpoint years ago.
