How much does it cost to buy a domain?

Is there a yearly/monthly/blah price attached to it?

I am also aware of the fact that I can earn enough reward points to buy a domain. Could I cash in some of my reward points to earn a discount on the domain?

The average cost is about 8-10 dollars each.

Godaddy.com charges 8$ yearly which I think is the cheapest deal.
Then the prices range from 10$ to 15$ depending from registrar
to registar.
