How to connect to Database from outside?

Hi there !!!

I want to connect to my database from my own computer with open office base. I've installed ODBC/MySQL-Connector V.5 but i can't establish a connection to the database of my domain.
I've read in another posting that admins first have to open the ports for that? Is this correct?
Could any admin help me open the database with open office...

Go to cPanel > "Remote MySQL" under "Databases" section.
There you should add the domain/IP you'll be accessing your MySQL.

I'm not really sure about the port. Better wait for an Admin to answer if you need something enabled for your account.

It's port 3306, you also need to PM me your IP address to allow it through our firewall.
