Hi,

I just found out how to fix the problem with the x10hosting domains.

Why didn't it work for me at first?

I just found that out as well.... I was trying to get my site to work using the "ipconfig /flushdns" command for over an hour but it still did not work. Its because the DNS resolver has to have an entriy to that domain to flush it.

Ok ok How?

1. Open up IE.
2. Type in your domain address
3. Wait till you get the "Page Cannot be displayed Message" (Note Some times IE changes the address bar and adds a % symbol, if you get it delete it and hit enter again)
4. Without Doing anything Click on the Start Button
5. Click Run
6. Type "cmd" (Command Prompt)
7. Hit Enter
8. Then Type "ipconfig /flushdns"
9. hit Enter
10. Wait for about 30secs or more depending on you ISP's Server speed.
11. Reload the Address in IE

There you go... It should work fine now

Hope it helps

Thank you,
Chirantha

NOTE TO ALL: Just because you did a dns flush it will not work. You need to visit the broken site and THEN flush it. Think logicly..... How on earth is your ISP going know what domain you need to clear? So you have to visit that domain to be added in the dns resolver chache. Then when you flush, you ISP Server knows you are flushing the domains in the resolver.

Flushing your DNS cache only "sync's" it with your ISP's "cache".

If you ISP didn't update yet, then this won't fix it. Call up your ISP's and complain.. :p

I have before *wink wink*

hmmz, weird thing is:

this solution doesn't work for all of my site, only peices, and if I try to go to another page of my site, that part of the site is down... so will this need to be done for every page of the site?

ok, got mine fixed...

1st I did the instructions Chirantha posted. I waited about a minute and like earlier I said only parts loaded. I held the Ctrl key and clicked the Refresh Button (I'm using Firefox). After about 3 times of doing that my entire site worked.

EDIT: Ok, well it worked for a while and now it has stopped again.
EDIT2: Plus, it only worked with the www.domain.x10hosting.com

ISP Update?

I don't understand... I know what your talking about but I can access my site only between a certine time period. I would guess my ISP updates from time x and time y. Time x gets the right information and time y does not. I'm really not sure what's going on.

Any ideas?

Did you guys even read my post?

Windows updates it's DNS resolver cache every little while automatically.

THE PROBLEM IS WITH YOUR ISP's NOT UPDATING THEIR DNS CACHE!

There is almost nothing you can do to "bypass" this.

Maybe updating your host's file will/would work, someone suggested that.
