How to inject ad code into phpBB

As the title says, I'm setting up phpBB and I need to know if someone can help me inject the ad code into my pages. In as simple terms as possible please, I'm not familiar with php seeing as the last time I coded for the internet javascript had just been released... LOL:eek4:
