Make a site that lets you get on Aim from a web browser. Like aimonpsp.com, and webaim.net.

You mean something similar to AIM express? Or something more like Google Talk in Gmail?

Now that I think about it, it might be kinda cool to try and whip something up using AJAX. I know there is a Perl module that allows you to login to the AIM service. I once made an AIM bot using it. But creating a site with AJAX that would facilitate an interaction between the user logging in and the server running the Perl script would be kinda cool.

I agree, that this is a superb idea.

Its allows people to use msn, yahoo messenger etc, in shool, if they have blocked it.

I know my school did, and I spent ages looking for places to allowe mt use msn messenger in school.

Fount a couple but they soon got blocked!

Great idea, if u can do it!

And that's probably gonna be something I'm gonna try to do on my web OS is get stuff like AIM and Yahoo on there... taht would be nice - especially 'cause you'd be able to do it from school (they usually got it blocked out).

Not sure how you can launch AIM directly from your browser, but I know there are a lot of sites that can do that. Like AimExpress. anyways I do know how you can get the AIM remote. it integrates into your site and allows users to launch the AIM client through their browser/your site. you can get it here: http://www.aol.co.uk/aim/remote.html

That site only shows how to get on with a pda and cellphone and not make a site that has a script that functions like aim express.

Isn't that kinda what I said? If I didn't make it clear enough, sorry, I'm kinda sleepy so I can't really think straight right now.

I would be willing to work on the project. I have a few other projects in the works right now, but if someone wants to work with me on it (meaning, they help code the Perl, XHTML and JS required too), I would love to give it a try. PM me if you're interested.
