htaccess file ??

Isnt there supposed to be an htaccess file under public_html ??

I cant seem to find any

If there isn't one, you can make it. Just create a file with the name '.htaccess' (sans quotes) then enter your rules therein.

You can't see it becuase when you opened your File Manager, you did not check the box marked "Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)". In order to do this, you'll need to go to your cPanel's main page, scroll to the very bottom, and click "reset all interface settings". You will not get a confirmation (in fact, nothing visible happens), but it will do the trick.

From there, refresh the page and click the folder icon for your File Manager. You should get the prompt again; this time, make sure to check the first checkbox. This should enable viewing of files starting with a period (chiefly, configuration files, .htaccess among them). Hope I've helped...
