I have a question about backup of my website.

I have been doing a backup by going to my public_html directory, and creating and compressing it. Now my question is this: When I do archive the entire pub-html directory, does this also back all the database info as well (mysql, etc)?

No. That should be done separately by PhpMyAdmin using the export function.
