I know i may be troublesome, but i am really a NEWBIE or worse than that! just started 2 days ago.. can somone help me with 1 by 1 steps? like how to chnage your homepage without ads and the template? can i put chatbox like a blog? how to put the countviews for others to see? ehh.. you will understand my situation if you visit my domain http://siaosiaoboii.x10hosting.com after watching it.. please don't laugh. Go into your CPanel or FTP into your account. Then whether you do it online or FTP make sure you put your website in the "public_HTML" or "www" folder. Those two folders will always be the same. For your chatbox you could use http://chatango.com and the counter http://www.freestatscounter.com/ (First link off of google)

The simplest way to get a website started is to use a CMS (Content Management System) such as Joomla. Joomla basically does all the hard work, and then al you need to do is provide the content.
If you decide to go for a CMS you can install one from cPanel. Go to 'Fantastico De Luxe', then click Joomla or one of the other CMSs in the left hand column, and install it.
With a CMS you can choose a theme that you like (There are loads on the internet for Free) or you can make one yourself, then you can use plugins/modules to add more features.
For an example of a site made using Joomla have a look at my website, Earthtime Games. There is a link in my sig.
