Howdy;
First thing is to install your OS.
Next you should select and install some sort of control interface such as Kloxo, WHM, or Webmin unless you plan to work strictly with SSH.
Once those basic steps are completed you can start start fine tuning things, setup mail if you wish, and install scripts.
