Im trying to install a shoutbox on my smf forums and it asks for my ftp infomation...this is what it says:

FTP Information Required
Some of the files the package manager needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders. Your FTP information may be temporarily cached for proper operation of the package manager.

I put in my:

FTP Server: LocalHost
Username: runeps_general
Password: *I put my password in*
Local path to SMF: public_html/smf
Port: *my port*

But it says:

530 Login authentication failed

Can someone help me? If they can I will pm you my infomation...that I put you will proply know what I did wrong..

I used this: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=585

& I downloaded: AdvSB_1.22.zip

Can anyone help me?

hmm. I have SMF running on my site right now, let me double check. I know that I'm using "localhost" and not "LocalHost" but it seems doubtful that is the error.
Edit:
Yeah, everything looks good to me as far as your settings go. Double check your FTP user settings. You can use the same info as your CPanel login. If that doesn't work, you may have a bigger issue.

Just use the package manager to upload the mod file, and be sure to chmod the folder that contains the mod to 755 ( I just chmod'ed the whole Forums_/ directory, just in case I encountered other errors like this in the future).

Hello,

It looks like you are using your MySQL information (FTP usernames are username@domain.com, not cplogin_username). The correct information to use (username\password) is going to be your cPanel information aka FTP Login.

That information will allow you to upload the package and install it.
