wysiwyg is the way to learn because you can make it then look at the html and you can make your first site without knowing html and get it up and running... and templates are for script kiddies!! learn it yourself so you can make it do what you want...

I'd have to say templates are not always for script kiddies. Very often you can find competent programmers who aren't gifted in design.

There's a difference between knowing how to design a page, and making one that stands out and actually looks good.

that is true... i can't do graphic design... but I have a graphics guy than I partner with for my freelance stuff... and he lays it out on paper and then I code off what he designed...

Actually, I do know some coding. My problem is how to actually get anything on my site. I go to the cpanel, but where do I go after that? I made a subdomain and made a new file to go in it, but I don't know how to edit that file, I mean, I know the coding I want, but my problem is that I don't know where to type that coding.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh............I get it now. just one last thing. where do I type code instead of text? i click on the file test3 (what I named it) and I can go into any of about 5 editors. where would i type in my coding?
Edit:
Even if its hard, its cool having a website that may actually work with my code! This is the fourth web hosting service I've gone to to try and start my website (All the rest had problems. One didn't let me use coding at all, one wouldn't log me in and the other kept trying to get credit card numbers).
