Hi, I need vps simple for forum un smf 2.0 rc2
I've seen x1 vps service by modifying the order:

X1 - Disk Space: 10 GB
Transfer: 200 GB
1 IP Address
128 MB Guaranteed RAM
354 MB Burstable RAM
Fair Share CPU (300Mhz Guaranteed)
10Mbit Dedicated Port
HyperVM Access
Unmanaged
+ cpanel

Are you still active x1 vps?
"Payment for cPanel is unique or does each month along with the monthly vps?

The X1 VPS is still available; it's just only listed on the Order page. It is not available with cPanel; due to the amount of RAM cPanel requires, you can only get it on X3 and up. The extra $13/mo for cPanel is, AFAIK, not billed separately to the normal VPS charges.

I seriously doubt you need a VPS just for a forum, though; unless you know for a fact you need a VPS, any of the Premium Hosting packages will do just fine. (In fact, you should be able to run SMF off the free hosting.)

SMF you want to use is RC so it is not recommended for main commercial forum. You can go for smf 1.1.11

What happens is that using the free hosting of any moment becomes too slow and I can not accesder or the panel or the web. I thought it best to hire a VPS for my forum and free image host that implementare further, and that gives me opportunity to try several scripts without disturbing the shared web server.

When I apply for a VPS gives me all installed ready to use or should I install, apache, mysql, and GD libraries?
What are the requirements to rent a VPS or does not exist?

The best thing for you would be to get a premium package. It is like the shared free hosting except way faster, more space, with more features enabled and much more.

VPS packages come to you the same way a new computer comes to you. You need to install everything you want on it.

^ adding to that, you would need to know how to set up a firewal and other secturity system. Unless you know linux really well, I would go for paid hosting. That way you don't need to worry about about the server side of things.
