All I'm trying to do is make my own website and to and modify my website. I look through everything I could find but I still don't get what this place is about.

Let us take for instance you have created a website. Now you want people to see it don't you? Yes.....Now you can't keep the site on your computer and expect people to see it..One reason because you will have to keep your computer on all the time without switching it off. And I don't think you will have enough internet speed for people to access your website on your computer. Let's just say that keeping a site on your computer is impossible.
