I wonder why they require you to post in the forums to keep your website from going dark?

We don't. We only require you to Login to the Forums once every two weeks. You do not have to post.

Yessir, no need to post whatsoever. Just to make sure those with hosting still want it, and haven't just left it. Plus, important information is relayed via the forums.

Sneaky tip, if you use IE, you can set it to show more than one tab when you start a window, so you can do something else, then at some point later glance to see if there's anything new and then close the tab. Easy.

Also available in Firefox, if you open the pages (plural) you want then click "Use Current Pages" to set them to open automatically. Or use the pipe symbol (shift and '\' on my keyboard, or copy/paste this: | ) to separate your homepages. For example, www.google.co.uk | www.bbc.co.uk | forums.x10hosting.com .
