The layout right now is barf-worthy right now. What kinda layout and colour scheme are people thinking?

The site looks plain in blue alone. Your top menu is wonderful but i dont like the picture in it. In the left hand side menu, you could have used some other color for the menuitems which matches the menuheading background color.

Change the Color.

Go for a brushed steel header with green text, a bit like the XBox 360 styles. Change the background to white, and have brushed steel on the menu to the left. Your code could stay pretty much the same, just change your styles.
