photoshop can definitely resize your photos. Sometimes there are easier free utilities if you're not too familiar with photoshop. to do this on a single photo, with the photo open, go IMAGE>Image size and enter your picture dimensions in the second set of boxes. It will keep the proportions constrained as long as the chain link is complete, and you'll only have to enter one dimension for it to do both. Doing a batch process of many photos requires an action to be recorded and then using the AUtomate>Batch command in photoshop or Bridge (CS2/3). This is a bit clumsier for the new photoshop user. Search for "photo resize" on versiontracker.com and there are a number of freeware photo batch resize options. hope this helps

The easiest way would be to decrease the amount of megapixels on you camera.
How this works (of if its even possible) differs per camera model.

Otherwise i too would suggest using a batch with photoshop.

If you have an fairly recent installation of Microsoft Office (Office 2003 or newer) it should come with Microsoft Office Picture Manager. You can batch resize, edit and tweak your photos with it. It seems to do the job.

If you do use it, just remember to make a backup copy of your photos, as it overwrites the original file.

Yes you can. But you'll have to uncheck the chain, or it will force proportions (if you change width or heigth, photoshop will automatically change the other).

I would recomend www.irfanview.com , as already mentioned in my other post. A very good, freeware, program. Can resize, batch resize, lossless jpg rotation and much more.

Irfanview is the best and it is free. I'll tell you how to go about it. First download it since it is free and just around 1 MB. You can resize many images at once and also change the extensions. Batch conversion is the method that it uses to resize, rename and change the extensions. Have a go at it.

You have to crop your image if you want to resize it to a value that doesn't keep its original aspect ratio.

On Photoshop its quite easy - you just have to press ctrl + t and you can resize it. Then, if you want to optimize it for the internet, you click file and save for web. Simple as that. Or you could just search in google for image resizing programs.
