Images did appear on website

In my public_html directory, I have 3 files:
ethamsunglasses.jpg
index.html
tiagreenball.jpg
Why could I only see words on my website but not the images?

I am using KompoZer for my web design. Should my publishing server be ftp://ftp.starka.x10hosting.com/nypl9974/

The problem is it's not actually in your public_html, theyr'e all in the subfolder nypl9974. Try changing your publishing server to just ftp.starka.x10hosting.com without the subfolder at the end, since when you login it automatically puts you in your section of starka.
