I am relativley new to using the cpanel interface. I know that apache allows users to customize which file it pulls up when someone enters in "http://url.com." for example if I named my index file "default.php" It would show that file. How exactly do I do that with x10hosting and cpanel?

Yes you can specify default index file using .htaccess

Th .htaccess is hidden file so you have to select show hidden files while opening the filemanager

add this to .htaccess

DirectoryIndex default.php
