Hi,
Also if you go to cpanel and find Fantastico you can choose a forum and they will automatically install it for you

Fantastico is out of date though really, its better to install the latest versions yourself. As stated above check Phpbb's website they have all the info you need all on one site.

Welcome aboard to x10Hosting. There are several ways to install forum software onto your web site. One is the usual old-fashioned way, installing it manually. First acquire the proper server files, an example would be to download phpBB from www.phpBB.com then follow the instructions that come with it.

If you don't like doing a work, there is something called Fantastico on your cPanel where it automatically installs the scripts for you. You will be able to choose where the server information will be stored and viewed.

It's very easy, installing a forum is basically like installing a forum on any other web host's server.

Good luck :)

When you install the script, the installer will ask you where to place the forum to finish setting it up. Wherever you chose to put the forum is where you go to view your site.

Go to http://x10hosting.com/account and log into your account there.

Then scroll down and find the box labeled "PHP Version".
Check the " Intermediate PHP Configuration" box and say that this version of php is required for the forum script you wish to use. Your request should be accepted for this reason then you have to wait while X10 make the changes (you will get an e-mail once this has happend).

You should now be able to use your forum correctly :)

Does Fantastico ever upgrade their forum version? Also, if you wish, can you move your forum from X10 to an actual domain without deleting your forum?

Fantastico will only update if cPanel updates with it. I'm also 99% sure that you can add a full domain so people can access your domain. I believe it's something like a Parked Domain, try searching around the forums for it.
