Are you comparing Intel integrated graphics cards with ATi (not AVI) and nVidia?

If you are then nVidia by far; they're in the lead with the 8800 series, and two of my desktops both have nVidias that perform quite well (FX5200 and 8600GT)

I have an ATI and an nVidia. So far, I can't tell the difference. They are both far better than any Intel integrated graphics though. I wouldn't touch those with a 10-foot pole.

I changed the AVI to ATI. I don't think you can compare the integrated graphics with external graphic accelerators. nVidia wins hands down on this battle. The 8800GTS is definitely better than any one by the ATI Series.

nVidia is the winner. I'm not even sure why you threw Intel up there...

Gefore GO 7400 is enough for me. I've never used ATI but I heard some information from it. It's good for gaming.

GeForce 7600gt x2 (sli setup) in my machine
single 7600gt for the wife
I <3 nVidia, and will continue to buy them unless the seriously tank or something. The nicest thing about them is they handle OC like a champ, same reason I buy AMD.

to quote toms hardware in their long ass article,

Conclusions
With price tags of $550 and $725 respectively, the Geforce 8800 GTX and Ultra are anything but cheap. That's a lot of money to invest into 3D gaming. Under DirectX 10, these graphics processors really fly. While their performance lead over the Radeon 2900 XT and the Geforce 8800 GTS was not as pronounced under Windows XP/DirectX 9, they offer between 50 and 100 percent more performance than these cards under Vista/DirectX 10. Additionally, the Geforce 8800 Ultra boasts much shorter load times in Lost Planet and Bioshock. We can only guess how well the GTX and Ultra will be able to handle upcoming titles such as Hellgate London or Crysis. However, these cards pack a major punch and still have some performance reserves.

Today, the Geforce 8800 GTS and the Radeon HD 2900 XT constitute the new mid-range. They offer sufficient frame rates for a smooth game experience in current titles, although FSAA may need to be disabled in higher resolutions. Of these cards, the Geforce 8800 GTS 320 has a minor advantage in performance and a major one regarding its pricing. The pricing of the Geforce 8800 GTS with 640 MB positions it directly against the Radeon HD 2900 XT. Don't forget to factor in the much louder reference cooler of the Radeon card, though - Nvidia's solution is much quieter.

In the lower performance segment, the Geforce 8600 currently looks like the better choice than the Radeon 2600. Specifically, we would recommend the 8600 GT, which can be found for as little as $120 as a standard version and $130 as an OC variant. Alternatively, you could also go with a Radeon HD 2600 XT with 256 MB.

The Geforce 8400 GS, 8500 GT and Radeon HD 2400 all run DirectX 10 game flawlessly. However, you will have to do without FSAA and set the graphics quality slider no higher than the medium setting to achieve playable frame rates.

For now the 8800GT is the clear cut winner but later on, maybe ati might throw up a bomb or two.

I have an ATI card, but I can't say it's too good... it can't even handle new driver's that's meant for it, that's because it overheats. I'd rather have an nVIDIA card. My computer is hardly 1 year old! 8O

I do this for a living so..
Intel is just for people who do nothing as to gaming. Its a really cheap on

board option for those kind of people. ATI right now is mid/entry level.

For people who game, but dont live for it.

Nvidia is everywhere at everything right now. They have the best card

available *cough* 8800GT *cough*. They are the cheapest best and have

the 8800 ultra.

Hands Down Nvidia.

I have been hearing rumors of ATI launching a card thats solid gold....

nVidia all the way - if only they'd release open-source drivers for the linux community :(

I've used all 3 manufactorers, and I still to this day prefer NVidia. I've never had a problem with their drivers, software, or hardware. In all reality, they have all 3 worked fine and done their job and then some. But for me, I just tend to gravitate to NVidia hardware.

nVidia doesn't have open source drivers, BUT they do have linux drivers. They support OpenGL like a dream too, and it's pretty sweet for some 3D linux games like Nexuiz and Tremulous. They actually run faster in linux than in windows!
