IP address

This IP address is not refering to the domain i got from you so i was wondering how to find the IP address of my domain if it differs from the shared IP address 70.86.238.114 ?

My domain is ftpproba.elementfx.com

You can use 'localhost' instead of the IP address of the server.

it's a Windows application so, if i remember well i cannot use the localhost.
I tried to ping the domain through the command ... but the request is timing out .

Any other idea please (if possible at all)

Are you trying to query your x10 database from your personal computer? If so, I think Corey has that functionality blocked at the firewall.

Ok let's say that Corey has really blocked that ... but could you tell me why i cannot ping the ftpproba.elementfx.com ?
It's ok if it's subdomain of the shared IP address 70.86.238.114 but i beleive that anyway i should be able to access my subdomain through IP address.
It seems that these free hostings never justify your expectations.
You get what you pay for !!! For a while i thought that it could be not always truthfull. I was Wrong obviously lol

Pinging was disabled by the firewall, it does do a load increase on the server.

As for the db, we have to manually allow each IP into the database, if Corey does allow it make sure it's static.

From the sounds of it - you are expecting Free to mean open and unsecure. This just isn't going to be the case in 90% of the free services. Corey would like to keep from having his servers shut down because someone with ill intent was able to use features to disable or shut down the servers.

Its like me saying I should be able to ping your computer ... because you are online. But, I would probably bet you have Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and either a router, firewall or both. Why? ... Because these days, people that want to protect their valuables, have to do that.
