IPB or vB?

I am owner of a site called MicroTechXP and I have IPB 2.1.5 running and I was wondering is vB better than IPB? There is a couple of mods on vB that I want that is not on IPB. What do you think?

i believe the current forum you have is fine

Well there is this mod that will help me realease a very big supprise for my members called mM. I will not give the name of it because it is a big suprise.

I have also been looking into vB and I see it has better support than IPb and better mods and skins. But the admin sucks...

I have also wanted to switch because my lisence has run out and I have been looking for better ones (if there is any).

If you're paying for a vBulletin skin, then i must agree with you. But in standards of free vB skins vs Free Ipb skins, ipb win. But if you're paying for a vB skin then yeah you get better than what you get with IPB.

I like vBulletin better to be honest, as is why I bought a vBulletin license, I like the vB mods better, and vb has some thing called "Product Manager" where one simple upload in your adminCP can install a hack for you. vB all the way.


Also vB support is VERY good, you get an answer from the support team at least under 5 minutes.

I dunno I actually like it how it is now I think your should keep the IPB. But hey, if you paid for a vB liscense then yeah should be better.

I've always preferred IPB. But since i've been using the forums here I've grown to like vB as well.
I think IPB just beats vB.... but probably only because I've been using it more.

Necessarily! I hate VB too first because I dont dont understand **** on it (excuse me for the term) and secound because the admin sucks, on the other hand I like IPB and I'm not as bad with it as I am with VB.

No way, admin in vB is much better than in IPB, the options you have are better and more.

I think what they're saying is that the vb ACP is more complicated, but I agree it has more options than IPB's ACP!

pfff, stick with IPB, i am running ipb and love it.. i have also had a vb board, but i decided that ipb was better for me... and the ipb control panel is a little more complex then vb but who cares?? lol it does the same job and IPB for me has so much more professional skins...

To be honest I thought the vBulletin ACP was much harder and complex compared to the IPB's ACP. And vB ACP 'has' more features.

whoever hacked your forum sent a rather "graphic" image in an email to everyone

also, your index page is shown with that same graphic image

was about to say that sorry to see it mate id say ipb tho as i like the Admin cp but if you understand vb admin panel then go for it

Between Vb and IPB I'd choose Vb, but personally I wouldn't use either. PunBB is where it's at.
