Is 8mb the largest file size for upload

I just signed on and went to upload a 22 mb file but saw a limit of 8 mb per file. Can anyone expand on this? Are larger files allowed?

Larger files should be allowed. You should be able to transfer them through the FTP if you can't upload it over HTTP.
