is it possible to run mysql from my computer and have it access my site?

ye, I am running a forum, and its really slow to load phpmyadmin to edit the forum and it takes a long time for each page on the forum to load, so i was thinking, cant i run mysql5 from my computer and have it acess the site?

You should be able to, i'd think you would be able to. Your mysql host would be your IP address.

I dont get it, can you access your databases on your site from your pc, if yes, is it quicker?

No the server does not allow you to connect to x10's mysql databases from your computer. However, if you chose to use your own mysql server your site could access it.

OK just to clear this up for me...So what you are saying is that if I was able to get phpmyadmin to run on my machine I could not access the database for my site.
