I heard from a good professional that JavaMX is replacing JavaScript... is that true....?????

Maybe he meant that it had a lot of potential, but it is definitely not now. I have not seen a single page with JavaMX on the web.

It's called JavaFX, and its goal is to compete with Flash and Silverlight, not JavaScript. Yes, its apparent goal at the moment is to compete with those, not replace - it's nowhere near even being a big player yet.

The thing is that pretty much everyone has flash and silverlight is preinstalled in most new windows computers, it's gonna be hard de-throning flash (long-time at the top, no competitor) and silverlight (has windows to propel itself forward).

</sarcasm>

I know that's not related to JavaFX, and probably not an issue with it either (I can't say; I haven't tried it), but let's face it: Java's not world-famous for being fast client-side, and even if most of its speed issues are a thing of the past, people still perceive it and anything relating to it as slow.
