Is there any ways to prevent web server hacking?

Hi Dudes,

Recently i found some funny files on my account, i am not sure if some one has hacked into it and placed those files there... Does anyone knows of any precautions or software to prevent hacking? I do get alot of spams on one of my blogs tho.

There are plenty of tips on reducing the chance that your website will be hacked, a quick search on Google will revel loads.
Some tips include:
1. Keep your password safe.
2. Don't give out Admin access to your site to people your don't know and trust.
3. Keep and scripts and software up to date.

I would go to www.labwithleo.com and use their search to search threw their ShowNotes. Leo Laporte has talked about website security before.

Steve Gibson the guy that invented the term Spyware and wrote the first Anti-Spyware program, is a expert in security, (grc.com). He suggests as well that you use long and complicated passwords. If your password is too simple, Dictionary Attacks can take place, (yes as in looking in a word dictionary).
